Happy Birthday Ranbir Kapoor: Bollywood's 'Rockstar' is 31

Ranbir Kapoor was born to actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh on September 28 in Mumbai. He is the great-grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandson of actor-director Raj Kapoor. His elder sister, Riddhima Kapoor (born 1980) is an interior and fashion designer. His paternal cousins Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are both actresses.

Nusrat Fateh Ai Khan’s widow passes away in Canada

OTTAWA: Legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ai Khan’s widow, Naheed Nusrat,  succumbed to illness on September 13 at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. According to reports, she had been suffering from cancer for the last month.

Born in Faisalabad, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was an internationally acclaimed Pakistani qawwali singer who possessed an extraordinary range of vocal abilities. He contributed to and performed in several Pakistani films and later did playback singing for Bollywood. He fell ill in 1997 and passed away in London, England. 

The wife of the late musical maestro had moved to Canada after the demise of her husband and had taken ill since the past one month. She is survived by a daughter.

According to a family source, arrangements have been made to fly her body back to Pakistan. She is likely to be laid to rest in Faisalabad. staff report

Legendary Actor admitted to Hospital

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar (90) was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after he complained of uneasiness in the chest. He is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and his condition is stable. The legendary personality was kept under observation and a team of doctors have been monitoring his condition.

Dilip Kumar is known as the 'King of Tragedy' in Bollywood. He was seen in iconic roles in the classic like Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna and Madhumati.Dilip Kumar was born Muhammad Yusuf Khan on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) and his acting career spanned six decades and over 60 films. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 191 and Dadasaheb Phalke in 1994. He was the first person to receive Filmfare Best Actor honour when the awards was launched in 1954. Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan stands on top with most number of Filmfare awards (8 each) won in the Best Actor category.

He was also nominated to Rajya Sabha for a term from 2000 to 2006.
In 1998, he was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian award conferred by the government of Pakistan.

‘Grand Masti’ leading lady Karishma Tanna pairs with Sunny Leone for 'Tina And Lolo'

After Minissha Lamba opted out of Devang Dholakia's Tina And Lolo, as she was not comfortable doing a lip-lock scene with Sunny Leone, Karishma Tanna has been signed to play her role. Tanna who is busy working on her fitness regime for the action thriller, confirms stating, "Yes I am doing the film along with Sunny Leone and we have already shot for 10 days. I am working on my fitness, since the character requires me to do hardcore action sequences like riding bikes, jumping from heights, flying in the air with the help of ropes etc. Although, I am enjoying the shoot, I have hurt myself and have a bad backache and multiple bruises on the body." Describing the film as a Charlie's Angels kind of a movie, Tanna reveals that the film will be shot in Mumbai and Georgia and will be completed by November. The makers are looking for a January 2014 release.

Veena Malik seeks blessing for someone special at Lalbaugcha Raja

I offered Prayer to seek blessing for one who is very special for me and the success of my upcoming movie.” Lalbaugcha Raja has always been a major attraction because of its iconic Ganpati idol.

Madhuri Dixit’s father passes away at 91

Mumbai - Shankar R Dixit, who is the father of Bollywood megastar Madhuri Dixit sadly died on Friday morning at the age of 91. Mr. Dixit died in his sleep whilst his family was by his side. In a statement to the Indian media, Madhuri mentioned the following about her father’s passing. “We’ll miss him but we know he lived a full life. We thank all those who have offered their condolences and prayers.”
Reportedly, Madhuri’s family had been informed by the doctors about Mr Dixit’s deteriorating health, and Madhuri was going to leave from the shoot of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 finale. Priyanka Chopra was to perform a medley of Madhuri’s numbers as a tribute to her. But Madhuri made it for the shoot on Thursday.
A source told us, “Madhuri will not be shooting for the rest half of the finale episode. Her performance has also been called off.”
Madhuri also took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support during this difficult time for her and the rest of her family. “Wanted to thank everyone for all your support at this difficult time. My dad was amazing and we will miss him.” In another tweet, she stated, “his memory will live on in the hearts of his 4 kids and 7 grand kids. And our successes are his successes.”
The Dixit family have organised a prayer meet in memory of Shankar Dixit in Juhu  for family and close friends.
