Akshay Kumar's And Sonakshi Sinha's New Movie - Joker

The Raowdy Rathode’s sparking jodi Akhay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha are appearing in Shirish Kunder’s much awaited film “Joker”.

He along with the other villager’s help builds a bird’s eye view of crop circles in the field which is considered as an attempt by aliens to interact with world. When a similar crop circle appears in Paglapur, the world media descends for their fix of exaggeration. Here Akshay plays as an innocent villager being a witness and tells a reporter of having sighted a UFO, that is Udta Firta Omlette.

But for how long? Will the villagers get caught? Or will this hoax be able to get people of Pagalpur government’s attention? There is only one way to find that out. Wait till the movie finally comes to theater.

A K Hangal cremated

Mumbai, August 26 2012 - With prayers on their lips, friends and family members bid a tearful adieu to distinguished character actor A K Hangal at his funeral here.

Incidentally, none of the prominent Bollywood personalities attended Hangal's last rites, performed by his son Vijay at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai, at around 1 pm .

"It's a great loss... I am saddened by his demise. He was very happy and lively about his work and life. I can't talk much now," Hangal's son Vijay told PTI.

Character artists including Rakesh Bedi, Raza Murad, Avatar Gill, singer-actress Ila Arun and a few others were seen at the crematorium uniting in grief at the demise of the man who played the role of grandfather, father, uncle or friend to various actors.

Hangal passed away early this morning due to brief illness aggravated by a fracture in his thigh bone at Asha Parekh Hospital in suburban Mumbai. He was 98.

"Though he was out of sight as he was not working in movies, he was not out of mind. He was my guru... he was an institution... I have learnt a lot from him," Raza Murad said.

"He has worked with all superstars but it is sad that no big star from the industry came here today," he said. "He lived like a king. He was very active. He was never disheartened when he was out of work and money. He was not only an actor... he was a freedom fighter. It's a great loss," Ila Arun said.

Hangal is survived by his 74-year-old son Vijay as his wife Manorama predeceased him.

The family was living in penury before several celebrities from the film industry chipped in with funds after news of the veteran actor's failing health broke out last year.

Hangal is remembered for some of the most heart-rending performances in SholayShaukeen,Namak HaramGuddiBawarchiLagaan and others.

He received the prestigious Padma Bhushan award for his contribution to Hindi Cinema in 2006.

Hangal's journey to filmdom was not a cake walk. He had heard of Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) while he was in Pakistan and was quite impressed by their work of spreading social messages through plays.

After the partition, Hangal chose to stay back in Pakistan but he was arrested because of his communist ideologies. He even spent two years in jail, later he was asked to go to India.

At the age of 21, he came to the city of dreams, Mumbai, with Rs 20 in his pocket.

Later he started doing plays with Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA).

It was Balraj Sahni and Chetan Anand, who saw his stage work and encouraged him to join Hindi cinema. Hangal was not interested in movies, but destiny had already planned a filmi journey of his life.

When he was in his 40s, director Basu Chatterjee offered him to play Raj Kapoor's brother in Teesri Kasam (1966). Though he was not keen on doing the film but then too he shot, later only to find out that the scene was chopped.

But after that there was no looking back as he played the doting father, uncle and friend to actors like Rajesh Khanna, Jaya Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rekha, Sunny Deol and others. He recently shot for TV Series Madhubala.

Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger continues to soar, post Eid

Salman Khan's Ek The Tiger is raking moolah even after Eid is over. The 7-day total of the film stands at Rs. 135.05 cr. The film that's breaking records with each passing day might even enter 200 cr club.

"Ek Tha Tiger made 15 Crores on it’s first Tuesday at the domestic box office. The 7 day total of the movie is 135.05 Crores. The box office collections of Ek Tha Tiger can in no way be termed as anything less than spectacular. Many movies have touched these figures but Salman Khan has now proved that speed does matter," reports Koimoi.com.

Ek Tha Tiger might continue its success streak next week also and could very well enter 200 cr club. "It is highly likely that the movie touches the magic figure of 200 Crores. Next week’s release Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is not expected to have any disastrous impact on the collections of this Bollywood Biggie," adds the trade website.

Eid collections
Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger continues to weave magic at the box office as it amasses Rs. 20 crore on Eid. The film has broken a series of records. It is not only the biggest first day opener, it also went on to break the first weekend record.

"EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Monday [Eid] 20.68 cr. Total:120.84 cr nett. NEW RECORD FOR MONDAY FIGURES," tweets trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

"The movie it seems is on a record breaking spree. Firstly, the highest 1st day collection, then the highest on any given day by a movie, then the fastest 100 Crore and now a record breaking Monday, Ek Tha Tiger is indeed on fire. Collections will drop on Tuesday, however the movie has more than just created history. The drop really won’t matter to Salman Khan as the coming weekend will rejuvenate the movie yet again," reports Koimoi.com.

The 100 crore feat
"EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Sun 23.06 cr. Total: 100.16 cr nett. SUPERB. Fastest 100 cr grosser ever - 5 days [Hindi films]. NEW RECORD!" tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Salman and Katrina

"EkThaTiger is @BeingSalmanKhan ’s 4th century [100 cr], the other three being #Dabangg [147 cr], Ready [122 cr] and Bodyguard [148 cr]," added Adarsh.

Ek Tha Tiger"Ek Tha Tiger reaches 100-cr mark in 5 days - another Rs. 25 cr from overseas. Total Rs. 125 cr. Today's Eid collection remains to be counted," tweeted ABP News.

The film had reached Rs. 77.10 cr mark on Saturday. "EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Sat 16.75 cr. Total: 77.10 cr nett. Excellent growth on Saturday," Adarsh had tweeted.

First Weekend"Ek Tha Tiger made an approx 11.75 Crores on it’s 1st Friday at the box office. After opening to a humongous 32.92 Crores and grossing 14.55 Crores on it’s 2nd Day, Ek Tha Tiger looks pretty steady with 59.22 Crores in it’s pocket," reports Koimoi.com.
"The movie might have seen a steady fall in its last two days but one can surely account that to working days not being huge grossing days. However, Ek Tha Tiger has created a new record at the Indian Box Office. In its 1st weekend (i.e. 1st 3 days run) it has grossed about 59 crores which is the highest ever in Indian history. Post Monday, when the fasting season of Ramadan gets over, there is no saying what collections will the movie make,"
adds the website.
2nd day collections"After shattering every record possible to shreds Ek Tha Tiger moved to its 2nd day. As per early estimates the movie would have made 16 crores on it’s Day 2 at the Indian Box Office. Ek Tha Tiger had grossed a humongous 32.92 crores on its Day 1 and its total box office collections till date stands at 48.92 crores," reported Koimoi.com.
"The fall was quite expected as Thursday was a working day and not a holiday unlike Wednesday. However, the movie is expected to hit the chords again this weekend. There is no doubt that Ek Tha Tiger will prove to be an all time blockbuster at the box office if it sustains its momentum even for a weekend," added the website.

1st day fever
"EkThaTiger biz on Wed is humungous, historic. But wait for Eid celebrations. It will create History *again*. Picture abhi baaki hain!" Taran Adarsh wrote.
"The 1st day box office collections of Ek Tha Tiger can be simply termed in one word as 'spectacular'. Something like this has never before happened in Bollywood. The movie made an approx. 30 crores (as per early estimates) on it's Day 1 at the Indian box office. Ek Tha Tiger did not just do good in a few circuits as there is really no circuit where the movie didn't break apart a set record," reports Koimoi.com.
"Ek Tha Tiger has smashed the opening day collections of Hrithik Roshan's Agneepath which had amassed a mammoth 23 crores. The movie also broke the much hyped Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One opening day record of 25 crores. Salman is out to break all the box office records ever set in India," adds the website.

Ek Tha Tiger: Movie Review

After giving three back to back hits like ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is ready with his Eid gift for his fans, as his latest action flick, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, is scheduled to hit the theaters on15th August.

The long wait for the year's most-awaited movie Ek Tha Tiger is finally over, as it releases today. Directed by Kabir Khan, Ek Tha Tiger, that features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is an action, spy thriller, with a dose of romance too. I am right now in the theatre and the movie has just begun. The theatre is jam packed and there is lot of buzz around. The film has been making headlines ever since it was conceptualised. And if the the promos of the movie is any indication, Ek Tha Tiger is a sure blockbuster!
What is the story all about?
Ek Tha Tiger is a romantic thriller that revolves around the story of a Trinity College scientist, suspected of selling missile technology secrets to Pakistan. The Indian government sends a secret agent, codenamed Tiger (Salman Khan) to find out about the professor's activities. Tiger gradually falls in love with the professor's caretaker Zoya (Katrina Kaif), who is studying at a fictional dance academy. What happens next? Will Tiger gain victory in his mission or will love take an upper hand?
Verdict on performances so far:
Termed as the mass entertainer, Salman Khan needs no verdict on his acting skills. What makes us love him in the movie is his rugged Tiger-like attitude, that suits him the best. Salman gets into the skin of his raw, rugged, edgy character and makes you admire over his marvellous performance.
When Kabir Khan claimed that everyone will get to see Katrina Kaif's acting potential in the film, it wasn't just a mere statement. He meant it and Kats did it. For all those who believe, Katrina is nothing, but, just a pretty face, Ek Tha Tiger is the answer for them. Katrina Kaif, not only looks super stunning in the movie, but, the girl proves that she's no less in acting as well. The girl definitely gets a thumbs up for her improvised hindi diction and good performance in Ek Tha Tiger.

Verdict so far:

Ek tha Tiger gets a thumbs up from me so far. Despite the alleged break up, Salman and Katrina haven't lost an iota of the chemistry, that makes them Bollywood's ultimate power couple, which they have proved in Ek Tha Tiger. The comfort zone that the couple have shared throughout the movie, makes their romance look genuine and real.
The action sequences looks real yet, retains the element of larger-than-life heroism. Shot in exotic foreign locations, Ek Tha Tiger gives us a beautiful picture. Salman surprises us in an action packed performance which is completely different from his other movies. The movie has lived up to our expectations.
